Support Marin's quality schools at Schools Rule

Marin Horizon School, our neighborhood school at 305 Montford Avenue, is a Montessori-inspired private school. It was extensively remodeled and now educates around 275 students in grades K-8. The well-rounded curriculum is strongly multi-cultural and interdisciplinary, often integrating arts, music and drama into cultural studies.

Head of School Luis A. Ottley sums up the mission of the school, "We believe every student is unique and has limitless potential for excellence. Our mission challenges students to be self-reliant thinkers, and confident, creative, individuals who are mindful and responsible to each other and the world we live in. Schools Rule is a non-profit coalition of over 20 public school foundations partnering with Marin Co. Office of Education, benefiting every student in Marin public school. The gap between what it takes to provide quality education and what the state provides is growing. Yet California spends less on education every year. Marin’s public schools, like all school districts in the State, lost more than $55 million in state funding during several years of the state budget crisis. While state funding is now stabilized, there is still a gap in Marin. Schools Rule's goal is to bring in new funding to be distributed annually among the public schools.
